Indeed the US fought a revolution for the right to drink coffee, play US Football, and baseball (not cricket!) and then that damned Ronald Reagan infatuated as he was with royalty and titled nobility and looking for every chance to rub elbows with same on the yacht Britannia threw it all away, cozied up to that horrible Thatcher woman and now we here in the US are mired in a Dickensian nightmare while the commonwealthians just look at us and shake their collective heads.
First thing we have to do to get back to the old ways is rescind Churchill's citizenship.

Having a bit of experience with the issue she raises, I think she makes a very good point.
However, it must be said that there's certainly no shortage of gormless Americans, as well.
