Don't link to crap
Following on from Tim Berners-Lee's explanation of the power of linking referred to in my previous post, it always fascinates me when people in organisations bang on about quality, structure, control and management of online spaces inside the firewall.
It's dead easy don't write crap and don't link to it - it's amazing how things sort themselves out when we each make good judgments.
bingo ! Ding ding ding ...
etc.

I couldn't agree more. People don't want to jeopardize their career by producing bad or ininteresting content on the intranet.
When it comes to think of social soft inside the firewall executives are afraid of bad or inapropriate content (or afraid of seing N-3 employees cleverer and better leaders than themselves ?) whereas they should be afraid of not promoting enough good content.

Absolutely right and absolutely right on.
Alas, one of the problems is that some people's idea of good judgements often jars with our own.
The example that springs to mind is those friends who we like and respect in most other ways, but who will insist on filling our inboxes with clueless forwarded crap.
