walk it
walkit.com is a really neat idea for walkers in London, well perhaps more accurately those who could walk but don't! The site asks you to enter departure and destination addresses and then works out a walking route with maps, directions, times etc. They also have a neat facility where destinations such as businesses can add walkit.com to their websites and encourage people to walk from the nearest station rather than take a cab for instance. The system isn't perfect yet but the guys are working on it and got back to me very quickly when I offered some feedback.
When I lived and worked in London I used to walk a lot, miles and miles a day, and it is a wonderful place to discover on foot - why not give it a go?
What I want now is a version for other major cities around the world!

This sounds amazing. As someone who has led lots of tours of Boston for visitors, I would love to see this in cities everywhere.

What a completely great idea. I'm onto it pronto and will try and get it put on our corporate websites. Thanks for the top tip
