Ignoring the “Great Firewall of China”

Ages ago I met Bob Khan, one of the guys who invented the internet, and heard him being interviewed. He was asked if he was worried about big business or nation states constraining the principles that have made the internet work. His response was that "the sorts of people who work in those organisations - if they aren't stupid before they start working there then they quickly become stupid". I interpreted this to mean that the creative mind of the benign hacker will always stay one step ahead of the institutional mindset.

Looks like Bob was right

British haute cuisine

Non-British readers may want to follow the photo link to Flickr where notes will explain the essential parts of this great British tradition - the fish supper.

[And for the British readers who question the absence of buttered white bread and a cup of builders' tea - I know OK!]
