My gob is well and truly smacked!

Google Print is up and running, looks very impressive, and has already introduced me to two facts that blew me away

I did a search for books referring to my home town of Strathaven in Lanarkshire and came up with two real surprises.

Firstly it is mentioned in Chicken Soup For The Cat And Dog Lover's Soul which contains a story about a heroic dog that won the Dicken medal, awarded to animals for bravery, and whose owner lived in Strathaven.

The second was even more unusual and indeed spooky. I, as many of you will know, used to be a professional sax player playing in club bands in the eighties. Little did I suspect that the inventor of a predecessor of the sax lived in Strathaven in the 19th Century!

Thanks for the link it certainly is amazing. In my case I found that my first job was in a company that was set up by the Sitwells and became the worlds largest producer of nails in the 1600's
Its a pity that the copyright owners won't let you print of pages for some fee, like companies house does.
